Lancing Beach Drainage Installation

Blockbusters have undertaken extensive works on Lancing Beach, Sussex.  We are currently digging and laying new pipework right onto the beach to make a connection for a new Chinese Restuarant that will be opening later in the year.  This new building structure has remained undeveloped for some time.

This installation has been an interesting project, partly due to the unusual location of the building situated right on the beach, but also due to what we were going to find in the earth between the beach and the main sewer found on the coast road.

Whilst planning the project we discovered that there where numerous large concrete blocks that had been placed into the ground just up from the beach.  These blocks had been positioned as part of the World War 2 sea defence plan to prevent tanks & other armoured vehicles getting access to the coastal road.

The works have been moving slightly ahead of schedule due to the hardwork from all our staff  on site and from good planning by our project management team.

We look forward to completing the works on time so that the building can continue its development and be open in time for the Summer Season.

We have had a number of teams on site to enable the works to be completed quickly and efficiently.

This is just one of the many large scale projects we are in currently working on.

Portsmouth City Council

We have recently completed an extensive CCTV camera survey project for Portsmouth City Council.  Covering a large area around Portsmouth’s historic  naval dockyard, our CCTV engineers have conducted over 80 road gully surveys.  The aim has been to tag, trace and establish the flow and direction of these drains to enable planning for future development  of the area.

Back at our offices, Kevin & Dan have been reviewing each camera survey to log and report on the findings.  This has been a comprehensive and interesting project and we thank Portsmouth City Council for approaching Blockbusters to undertake these works.
